WASH For secondary schools in Nepal
This project supports the improvement of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) facilities in secondary schools in Nepal. The focus is on practical infrastructure upgrades combined with basic hygiene education, delivered one school at a time.
The programme is set up as an umbrella project. Funds raised are used to support individual schools sequentially. Each school is added to the programme once funding is secured, and progress is shared as work moves forward.
At each school, the work typically includes:
– Construction or upgrading of toilets and handwashing facilities
– Installation or improvement of a safe and reliable water supply
– Simple water treatment solutions suitable for local conditions
– Hygiene awareness activities for students, teachers and the school community
The exact scope is adapted to each school, based on local needs.
Funding target : USD 30,000
Expected reach per school: approximately 300 students and staff
Current focus: Shree Roshi Secondary School
Shree Roshi Secondary School currently has limited access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation. Existing facilities are overstretched and, in some cases, in poor condition. This affects daily hygiene, student health and school attendance, particularly for girls.
The project at this school is being developed together with local partners to ensure the systems are appropriate, manageable and maintained over time.
Thematic area: Engineering and WASH
Planned start: Q2 2026
Duration per school: approximately 18–24 months (planning, implementation and monitoring)
Status: Funding
Additional schools and partners will be listed here as funding is secured and projects move into implementation.
